In Actus Reus, Bembol Dela Cruz presents a series of paintings of handmade guns, often regarded as objects used in committing violent crimes. The exhibit portrays the artist’s observations on the relationship between unlawful killings and the irresponsible use and abuse of homemade guns, as Dela Cruz himself ponders premeditation and the willingness to kill or harm another human being: “Does the act make the person guilty, unless the mind is also guilty?”
